This is the page for participants to register for the 2024 Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade in Danville, California.

The theme for the parade this year is Celebrating our Educators.

All parade entrants will be required to attend a 45-60 minute meeting to pick up registration packets and discuss parade procedures on Wednesday June 19th. Meetings will be held at the Danville Town Hall at noon and 6:00pm. Additional details will be emailed to parade entrants following registration.

Please review the information on this page carefully for important details regarding parade entry. Then, select the correct entrant type form the drop-down menu AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE and click Continue to proceed with registration. Please note that by proceeding with the registration process, you are agreeing to abide by all parade policies and must comply fully with all the requirements contained in the Danville Municipal Code to further ensure event safety.

Entrant types

When registering, you will be asked to select from the following entrant types:

  • Commercial groups: A retail business or other for-profit entity

  • Kiwanis sponsored group: Key Clubs, Kiwanis-sponsored bands and volunteers, etc.

  • Non-commercial groups: Non-commercial groups without 501(c)(3) status, religious groups, etc.

  • Nonprofit with 501(c)(3) certification: 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations or their Non-Profit Fiscal Agent. 501(c)(3) organizations MUST bring a copy of their nonprofit status certificate during the pre-parade meeting (see above/below for details.) Organizations who do not provide certification will be charged the non-commercial fee.

  • Paid parade sponsors: Gold, Silver, Platinum, Diamond and Presenting Sponsors

  • Politician/official entry - car + group: Politicians or officials (more than 3 people + 1 driver in one vehicle)

  • Politician/official entry - single car: Politicians or officials (max. 3 people + 1 driver in one vehicle)

  • Veteran: If you are a veteran or Kiwanis Sponsored Group, there is no registration fee IF YOUR GROUP REPRESENTS VETERANS (and not, for example, a commercial business or other category represented above.)

Please ensure that you select the correct entrant type during registration. If your entry is free, on the final registration page, you will still be prompted to enter credit card information. Please leave these fields blank — while they appear on the page, they are not required fields. Please contact admin@srvkiwanis.org with any questions related to completing your registration.

Mandatory meeting

ALL parade entrants are required to attend a 45-60 minute meeting to pick up registration packets and discuss parade procedures on Wednesday June 19th. There are two meeting times to choose from: noon or 6:00pm. Participants are invited to attend either meeting. All entrants are required to attend, even if groups have participated in the parade previously.

The meetings will take place at the Danville Town Meeting Hall, located at 201 Front Street next to the Village Theatre. The parade packet provided at that time will include a Parade Entrant Number to be displayed on each Parade Unit before entering the Parade, staging area information, parade rules, and roadblock pass to those who are staged in areas beyond roadblocks. A question and answer session for entrants will also be held.

501(c)(3) organizations MUST be able to supply a copy of their nonprofit status certificate if requested. Organizations that cannot provide certification of nonprofit status will be charged the non-commercial registration fee.

Event safety

All parade entries must comply fully with all the requirements contained in the Danville Municipal Code to further ensure event safety.

No throwing items from floats

Entrants must obey all parade procedures, particularly those relating to the safety and well-being of parade-goers along the parade route. GROUPS WHO FAIL TO ABIDE BY PARADE POLICIES, INCLUDING GROUPS WHO THROW ITEMS OR SPRAY WATER ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE, WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PARADE IN THE FUTURE.

If it is determined that you have entered under an INCORRECT category and/or paid an incorrect entry fee, you will be billed the difference between what you paid and what you should have paid. Failure to pay the correct entry fee may result in disqualification from next year’s Parade.
